Free Fight Gone Bad Fridays!

Starting this Friday, and every Friday, until September 25th, we will begin our workup to the big event, Fight Gone Bad 5!  During any of these Fridays, ANYONE can come in for a FREE workout during our regular class hours at 9am, 11am, or 5:30pm!

We will be performing variations of the workout “Fight Gone Bad” to help better prepare everyone for this year’s event.  The final event on Saturday September 25th, is about raising money for: Livestrong, Wounded Warrior Project, and the CrossFit Foundation.

CrossFit Tri-Cities will be hosting this multi-affiliate event, with other Illinois area CrossFit Gyms joining us for the final event.  Last year was a blast! We plan for it to be even bigger this year!

Member of the Month: Danae Fuqua!

July’s member of the month has shown us all how time management, hard work, and consistentcy all come together to achieve the desired results.  Danae Fuqua goes above and beyond proving her commitment to not only bettering herself, but also to contributing to the lives of those around her.  Her consistency in showing up on a weekly basis, with a positive attitude, and a strong desire to learn, has caught the eyes of the coaching staff and the other members.  She’s never too tired, even after routinely finishing first in her workouts, to cheer on and encourage those working out with, and often chasing her.

-Favorite skill: Pull ups.

-Most improved skill: Snatch.

-Favorite WOD: “Angie”.

-Least favorite WOD: “JT”.

-Favorite lift: Push jerk.

-Least favorite lift: The Clean.

-Primary motivation in doing CF: Become stronger and stay fit after my gymnastics career was finished.

-Definition of success: Success is… accomplishing a goal you have set or a team has set by putting anything and everything into achieving it.

-Long term goal for CrossFit, or outside of CrossFit: Keep up with crossfit workouts while at college, and join a CrossFit near Mizzou if I like it.  A long term goal would be to maybe compete in a year or two at a sectional qualifier because I know it would be a great experience.

-Three words that describe how you feel during/after a WOD: Accomplished, fit, exhilarated.

-Favorite outcome of participating in CF (gaining friendships, strength, etc.?): There isn’t just one thing that makes the outcome of CrossFit awesome.  It’s the combination of the great coaches, community, self motivation, and brutal wods that make CrossFit the perfect place to be.

Saturday: CrossFit Games!

Here’s the Lowdown on this Saturday’s Schedule:

-We will be holding FREE workouts at 9am, 10am, and 11am.  Anyone interested in trying out CrossFit for the first time, or if you want to bring your friends, anyone and everyone is welcome at all classes this morning!

-Workout for today will be announced when you arrive.  In spirit of the CrossFit Games!

-Live Streaming the 2010 CrossFit Games from Carson California during the classes.

-We will not be grilling out and BBQing after the 12pm Class, but instead:

-Heading over to Alley 64 in St. Charles for Live streaming of the CrossFit Games Events on their TV’s, and enjoying their  Air Conditioning!  Thanks ahead of time for their generosity!
