The 2012 CrossFit Open at CrossFit TriCities

Ok guys, this is it…it’s game time!

We have had a lot of questions about format and how thing will work over the next 5 weeks.  This post pertains to OFFICIAL TEAM MEMBERS only.  Our athletes officially competing in the 2012 CrossFit Open will be allowed a little extra freedom over the next few weeks to ensure they are able to get their workouts in and put up the best score possible.  We are seriously trying to qualify a team to compete in the Sectional May 18-20 in Chicago, so we are going to do whatever we can to make that happen.

Our weekly schedule will look something like this:

  • Mon-Wed – Classes as normal
  • Wednesday 7:00pm – Open Workout Released
  • Thursday Classes – “Dry Run” …shorter version of the Open WOD so people can get a feeler for movements and pace (Or officially scored Open WOD for Team members only)
  • Friday – Classes as normal (Or officially scored Open WOD for Team members only)
  • Saturday 9 & 11am Classes – Officially scored CF Open WOD for everyone
  • Sunday – Open Gym from 10:00-12:00 with Coach Eric…last opportunity for team members to make up the Open WOD for the week.
  • Sunday Night 7:00pm – Cut off for workout submission to games.crossfit.com

Fundamentals of Nutrition Workshop – Monday @ 8pm!

We will be holding a Fundamentals of Nutrition Workshop on Monday, February 20th, at 8pm for anyone interested in learning more about how nutrition impacts your:

  • Body composition.
  • Performance.
  • Recovery.

Regardless of what your goals are, what you put in your body MATTERS.  This IS NOT the introduction to another fad diet.  This is your introduction to a healthy and sustainable lifestyle that may very well change your life (as it’s done for many of our students).  This workshop is open to anyone, including non-members!  So bring the whole family, neighborhood, and workplace!

Topics for the workshop include:

  • Insulin Resistance.
  • Understanding your “macro-nutrients”.
  • What to eat, and the quality of your food.
  • How much to eat?
  • How we can help you further your goals and nutrition!

New Class Schedule Starting Monday January 16th!

With the results of the most recent survey we took to get everyone’s feedback on which classes you wanted most, we now have the results!  Starting Monday, January 16th, we will be running this schedule.  Based upon the trends of this update, and added classes, we will make further adjustments to the schedule if some of these classes are big hits!  So if the 5:30am class turns into a full class, we will open up more 5:30am time slots weekly (and so on).  Thank you for everyone’s input, and we look forward to this year!
