Newsletters you should sign up for (which will enhance your knowledge base)!

If you’re following our daily workout posts or our weekly postings on nutrition, training, and other community information, you may be interested in the other free newsletters out there that will enhance your experience with us!  These free newsletters from other gyms, nutrition gurus, and from the rest of the community out there (and are the ones that we follow).  Just submit your email address to these and reap the rewards of the free content that will hit your inbox about once per month.  Hey, we don’t make up all the info that we pass along to you!

Robb Wolf Newsletter: Links to his newest articles, downloads, podcasts, etc.  Great resource!

Catalyst Athletics Newsletter: Olympic weightlifting newsletter written by Greg Everett, touches on training tips, movement fixes, and everything else O-Lift related.  Sign up box is  in the top right corner of the home page.

Paleotrition: I just got this one like two days ago and it looks to be promising with some great paleo content.  Worth checking out and signing up for!

Rogue Fitness: Primarily equipment, to which you will occasionally receive a newsletter for some sale items.  Looking for that new jump rope or weightlifting shoes?  The sign up box is on the bottom right of the home page.

Optimum Performance Training: Just sign up for this one, James Fitzgerald is a very intelligent Coach who’s knowledge base is something all of us look up to.  Training, Nutrition, and just about everything else that comes up in our lives throughout training becomes a well explained topic.

STRENGTH/CONDITIONING

A: 3 to 5 Rounds:

-Handstand hold or handstand pushups

  • Max hold, or reps

-3x PNF Hamstring Stretch

-Instep to hip stretch

-5x single leg glute bridge (per side)

B: 5 Rounds:

-Deadlift (3-3-3-1-1)

  • Sets 1 through 3 = 3 reps
  • Sets 4 and 5  = work to a new 1RM Deadlift

-2x Seated Box Jump

  • M=30″ W=24″

-3x Tarzan Pullups

  • 1 Tarzan Pullup = 1 touch to each shoulder
