What is CrossFit Kids / Performers?
CrossFit Kids is the principal strength and conditioning program for many young athletes and the primary P.E. program for many home schools, charter schools. It is used by athletic teams, martial arts schools and many parents that want their kids to grow up healthy, strong and have a life long love of working out thus avoiding the common problems associated with childhood inactivity and obesity.
Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Healthy living requires that our kids push, pull, run, throw, climb, lift, jump, effectively and safely regardless of whether or not they play athletics. Athletics is a specialized pursuit. Our goal is to support the specialist, but reward the generalist.
The CrossFit Kids program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for 4 year olds and elite high school athletes. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs. The needs of our second graders and our high school wrestler differ by degree not kind.
CrossFit Kids is a minimalist program. It is not expensive, often requires little or no equipment therefore can be used across broad socio economic groups providing an easily accessible cost free resource for Elite Physical Fitness to everyone. (Courtesy of CrossFitKids.com)
CrossFit Kids Classes
Geared towards kids under 13 years of age. Kids class will be 6:30-7 Mon-Thurs with Saturday classes at 12:15 by signup. All Saturday classes will be on a week by week basis through summer and will be announced for signup on the website and at the gym.
CrossFit Performer Classes
CrossFit Performer is a class specifically geared toward teenage kids, age 13-18. It is the bridge between the CrossFit Kids class and our adult CrossFit program. Programming will be similar to adult classes, but more emphasis will be put on form and proper movement patterns that weight. All reps, especially those underneath a barbell are performed under the direct watch of a coach to ensure safety and proper exercise. The goal of this program is to produce excellent athletes and young adults ready to take on all of life’s physical and mental challenges. Teens in the CrossFit Performer class do not need to be in a traditional sport or interested in them, but this program is ideal on non-sport specific sports conditioning. Whether a teen plays football, basketball, baseball, golfs, does gymnastics, cheerleads, skateboards, runs, or simply wants to be more fit, this is the perfect program for them!
